ACMC2006 Level 3 Document " Design for Seismic Actions - Guidelines for designing transverse confinement reinforcement of reinforced concrete columns against seismic actions" was published.
Prof Tan Kian Hwee, the former vice-chairman (technical) will seve as the vice-chairman (policy), and Prof Kim Jay Jang-Ho would take over the position of executive council member as the replacement for late Prof Song.
OBITUARY The Vice-Chairman of ICCMC, Prof Ha-Won Song died of lung cancer on July 25 at the age of 49.
ACMC 2006 was updated. L2 document on Precast Concrete was added.

Executive council meeting and ISO/TF meeting were held on August 2 in Bangkok, Thailand during the EASEC-10 conference.
The ICCMC election was held and Prof. Ueda was re-elected to be a Chairman. Prof. Song and Prof. Tan were re-elected to be Vice-Chairmen.
ICCMC chairman Prof Tamon Ueda presented a invited lecturer at “Chinese Engineering Technology Forum on Durability of Concrete Structures”, 10-12, December, Hangzhou, China.

	ACMC 2006, the Asian Concrete Model Code, Level 1& 2 documents, was published in June 2006. Major updates include; 1)a new chapter on fire action in Level 2 Part I for building structures, and 2) commentaries in Level 2 Parts I and III, bringing them in line with Level 2 Part II. 	The first Asian Concrete Model Code was published in 2001. Since then modifications have been made and the new edition will be published in 2005. The revised version (as of now) can be downloaded from here. 	ACMC 2001 has been translated into Vietnamese and published by the Vietnam Institute for Building Science and Technology (IBST) and distributed among concrete experts in Vietnam. In July 2004, Ministry of Construction Vietnam approved Vietnam National Standard TCXDVN 318: 2004- "Concrete and Concrete Reinforced Structures - Guide to Maintenance" which was prepared based on ACMC 2001.
